When a planet is very close to the Sun in horoscope, then that planet is said to be combust.Sun is the strongest planet in Solar System of all. We can’t see anything which is close to the Sun. It is only possible when Sun is weak and Sun becomes weak only during Solar eclipse. The Sun is too much bright so other objects in the sky are not visible at day time. So a combust planet that is combust does not disappear, but it is not seen. It means that the hard work we put in is not visible to others. Someone else takes away the credit of our hard work. If there are more obstructions planets in the 12th, 10th, 9th, 6th and 3rd house, they can oppose otherwise good planets and cannot be ignored. Particularly malefic influences in these house cause more opposition/obstructions problems.

Although this is a complex topic but when we get into the habit of looking at it regularly, we see how helpful and important it is for determining and judging success. Again it can be use to judge any house or any karaka or any Dasha period and is invaluable. Further there are two major types ARGALA:

SHUBH ARGALA: When beneific planets are placed in house of ARGALA. A benefic planet or house in the 2nd, 4th 5th, 8th and 11th houses from a planet or house or dasha period causes primary Argala support on the latter.

ASHUBH-ARGALA : Negative intervention that may be positive. Malefics in these houses will give intervention through unethical or unscrupulous means, hard-work and some suffering.

Here we see that Argala involve relationship pairings between the 2 and 12th houses, the 4th and 10th houses, the 5th and 9th houses, the 8th and 6th houses and the 11th and 3rd houses. We need more benefic planets in the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 8th and 11th house and not being negated by more planets ( particularly malefics) in the 12th, 10th, 9th, 6th and 3rd houses.

1st house is ascendant and its overall growth is important for any one. 2nd, 4th and 11th house are Primary Argala, 5th and 8th house is Secondary Argala and 3rd, 6th, 9th, 10th and 12th house are Virodha-Argala for Ascendant. Now let us see what interferes with its growth.

While a malefic planet in the 2nd house from any planet is positive for gains, it may also mean that those gains come from unethical means. Every house of Argla and Virodh-Argala for ascendant can be examined in this way to judge the obstacles/support for overall growth.

This principle should be applied to the dasha lord also. So if we are running Jupiter Dasha and Jupiter in the 2nd from Pisces (Ascendant) and no blocking planet in the 12th (Aquarius) , then the period may be very powerful. If we are running a Saturn period and Jupiter or Venus is 2nd from the period lord and no planets blocking in the 12th from Saturn, then the period may turn out better than expected, This principle can also be applied to any karaka. 4th house-Primary Argala/ 10th house-Virodha-Argala: The 4th house is house of happiness and gains from vehicles/property and the ability to delegate work. Jupiter, Moon or Venus in the 4th from any house or planet will create happiness and mental balance while a malefic like Rahu in the 4th will create happiness from material gains like the accumulation or property but may happen through underhanded real estate transactions. The 10th house is Virodha or interfering with the 4th house of happiness as work takes us away from home. More planets in the 10th may create success at work but at a sacrifice to being happy at home. Benefics in the 8th house like Jupiter, Venus and Mercury when unafflicted and have good dignity then it may create money or gains in partnership/from spouse or partners. While 8th house karma is difficult, it can often bring gains and support although most of us do now want the suffering that comes from 8th house gains. 6th house karma is related to hard working, fighting, bad habits and obstacles that shorten longevity. Too many planets in the 6th obstructing the 8th may upset business and relationship. Too many debts or health problems from too many planets in the 6th or too much impact on bad habits may upset and block the delicate transformations that want to be happening in the 8th house. So too many planets in the 6th, even if they are malefics that will allow us to overcome our vices and enemies can upset the transformational qualities of the 8th house.

11th house-Primary Argala/ 3rd house-Virodha-Argala: Having planets in the 11th house is always positive. Benefics will create gains and income in a positive way and fulfilment of desires from good work. Malefics will create gains from illicit/harsh activities. The 3rd house is about courage (parakrama) which allows us to get our house’s goals or needs met and having the intelligence to carry that out. Our siblings may be involved in support as they force us to compete in order to make us stronger and overcome our obstacles. Thus malefics do well in the 3rd house for Argala because they increase courage and that creates growth to become better and more successful. If planets in the 11th are circumvented by more planets in the 3rd, then the person has to work hard and exert considerable effort to gain ground. SPECIAL ARGALA :

When the 7th cusp, its lord, Sun and Moon, occupy fixed signs or are connected with other planets in fixed signs and if 5th and 9th houses and their lords are also afflicted or are under the influence of Saturn, this will minimise the possibility of marriage.

When the 7th house or 7th Lord is in between two Malefic planets, it create Papakartari yoga in 7th house or 7th Lord. This will create Late Marriage in Astrology.

All above facts are important in consideration of late/delay in Marriage in horoscope. But All the rules can not be applicable in a single horoscope. A few of these combinations present in a horoscope will cause delay in marriage. When affliction is greater, more delay in marriage will take place there. When many of these combinations are found in the horoscope of any native there will be absolute denial of marriage or no Marriage.
