When a planet is very close to the Sun in horoscope, then that planet is said to be combust.Sun is the strongest planet in Solar System of all. We can’t see anything which is close to the Sun. It is only possible when Sun is weak and Sun becomes weak only during Solar eclipse. The Sun is too much bright so other objects in the sky are not visible at day time. So a combust planet that is combust does not disappear, but it is not seen. It means that the hard work we put in is not visible to others. Someone else takes away the credit of our hard work. Sun is our Ego. For some people Ego will be blinding their intellect or the mind. The mind does not work well when Sun is close to it. In case we have Ego problems, we will have to do something about it.
The Mercury is the planet for our logic and intellect and is combust. The reason for this is that Sun and Mercury never get away from each other. If gap between Sun and Venus is 8 degrees, it means Venus is combust. For Jupiter, this gap is within 11 degrees. For Mercury, this gap is 12 degrees. For Saturn within 15 degrees and for Mars within 17 degrees. The effects of combustion does not cross beyond 17 degrees. If in horoscope prediction, we ignore combustion then our prediction may be wrong. That is why combustion should never be ignored.
The dasha of a combust planet will not give the expected results. The combust planet is said to be in a state of fear. During the Mahadasha of a combust planet there is fear and mistakes due to low self-esteem. If the 5th house lord is combust there will be loss in games and sports just because of low confidence and fear of the opponents and Such Native will find it difficult to reach the top in any sport or game. For prediction in any horoscope, the entire horoscope should be analyse instead of just focusing on the combust planet only.
Combustion is not only problem. There is another problem when the Sun comes close to any planet Sun tends to affect that planet because Sun is powerful natural malefic. So apart from the combustion, affliction is another problem that is caused by the Sun as a natural malefic.
The cause of combustion is the Sun. Sun is hot and fiery. So, offering milk, water, rose water etc to lord Shiva helps. We may pray to Sun directly by looking at the Sunrise time. Recitation of Aditya Hridaya Stotra is also helpful. If there is health issue due to this combustion then Surya Namaskar is helpful. Meditation helps a lot because the mind does not work well when there is combustion in birth chart. Mental health issue caused by combustion can be solved by reciting mantras related to Sun.
