Placement of Jupiter in Ascendant is good placement but only when the Ascendant lord is well-placed in birth chart. When Jupiter occupying the 10th house in Duryodhana’s chart, he lost his life at the hands of Bhima in Mahabharata. Pandavas were sent to forest because of Jupiter in 12th house in Yudhishthira’s horoscope.

Its effects on the 7th house are most mysterious and debatable, especially for females. Jupiter is the significator of the husband in a female horoscope and gives bad results in marriage when placed in the 7th house. This happens because of "karko bhava nasho" where a significator planet sits in the house which represents the same signification. In a case of male same is done by Venus in 7th house but Venus in 7th has less damaging effects than Jupiter in the 7th for females.
